Gunners Soccer club is proud to announce the opening of a Soccer Academy.
This Academy will be open to all players in the Macarthur area. The Academy program is aimed at players between 6 and 12 years of age. It has been designed by and will be run by Alex Prophet.
| Alex has coaching experience in England and currently volunteers at Gunners as a junior coach. Alex was a Gunners junior himself and went to play professionally overseas with Blackpool and Wigan Athletic . In recent times Alex was a 2009 NSW Premier League Championship winning coach with Sydney United. The Gunners Academy feels privileged to have Alex running our program. |  |
The Academy aims at improving and developing players technically and tactically as well as promoting a happy, healthy lifestyle by maintaining or improving fitness levels . As well as practical coaching sessions the academy will provide nutritional talks and video sessions with guest appearances made by A-League players who will visit the kids and talk all about life as a professional player.
The Academy takes great pride in nurturing kids' enjoyment of their soccer. The way we keep them involved is by promoting fun . Throughout the sessions, fun and enjoyment is a constant theme. We can only keep our kids active by keeping them actively involved.
The Gunners Soccer Academy feels that if children do an extra session of soccer in the off-season, not only will their game benefit , their health and fitness will benefit as well. It can go a long way towards living the dream of becoming a professional footballer at Sydney FC. We have Socceroo Brett Emerton who plays at Blackburn Rovers in the English premier League and Matilda Sarah Walsh as a great example to us all. They were both Gunners juniors and they both still have strong family links in the community today.
The Gunners Soccer Academy invites you to take advantage of the unique opportunity to have your child in an Academy run professionally by coaches, players and officials who have held or currently hold Professional Footballing positions. Football or soccer is a growing sport and we look forward to our Academy helping your children grow into better players.
