Returning to Football UPDATE

  1. Updated Return to Training Guidelines

Following the announcement last week of COVID-19 related restrictions easing, Football NSW has updated and provided the “Return To Training” Guidelines (Level B), which you will find attached to this email.

Level B means:

  • The number of people allowed to gather outdoors for the purposes of training has been increased from 10 to 20 people;
  • Team squads can train together up to maximum group sizes of 20 people per quarter pitch;
  • Training is to remain non-contact; and
  • Social distancing protocols are to continue to be maintained.

We’ve had some great news of late but the threat is far from over. A school in Caringbah has been shut down until 24 June after a teacher tested positive to the virus.

Clubs, teams and individuals must still ensure compliance with the NSW State Government’s current Public Health Order and are advised to continue to remain diligent about the safety of themselves and others by maintaining social distancing of 1.5 metre and following good hygiene practices.

  1. Ottimo House M-League

Clubs are reminded feedback on the draft draw is now due. We are looking to promote the draw as of tomorrow if possible.

Unfortunately COVID-19 has claimed one of our ‘Colts’ teams, with the Camden Falcons officially withdrawing its team on Friday afternoon.

Ideally we’d like to maintain an 8-team competition. If any clubs feels there is a chance of this please let me know ASAP.

The worse case scenario is a 7-team competition with a bye.

  1. Community Sport Recovery Package

The NSW Government has announced a $27.8m ‘Community Sport Recovery Package’, which includes up of $12.5m in direct grants to local sporting clubs and associations in the form of a one-off grant of up to $1,000.

Further information regarding eligibility requirements will be updated shortly. Clubs are not required to do anything further at this point in time - we will advise once the application process opens.
